Emotional and behavioral challenges in childhood and adolescence don’t just affect the child—they impact the entire family unit. As a caregiver, watching your child struggle can feel heartbreaking, and when those struggles manifest as behavioral challenges, it can bring confusion, frustration, and even a sense of helplessness. I understand these feelings deeply, and my mission is to provide compassionate, effective support for both children and their families.
I offer therapy for children ages 3 and up, as well as adults and families, to help navigate emotional, relational, and behavioral concerns. Beyond direct therapy, I provide psychoeducation and support services for caregivers, because I believe that healing happens within relationships, not in isolation. Additionally, I provide mental health immigration evaluations for those immigrants and families navigating through the U.S. Immigration System.
How Can I Help?
I specialize in child and adolescent counseling, with a focus on trauma, anxiety, and ADHD. My therapeutic approach blends play therapy (with children) and creative expressive techniques with relational neurobiology—the science of human connection. I incorporate Polyvagal Theory and somatic therapy, which provide powerful strategies for regulating the nervous system. These techniques help children and adults manage overwhelming emotions, and they also equip caregivers with tools to regulate themselves. When caregivers feel calm and connected, children experience a greater sense of safety, co-regulation, and emotional security.
Connection is at the heart of everything I do. We are wired for connection, and when we feel safe in our relationships, healing and growth naturally follow. My goal is to help you and your child find relief, rebuild trust, and rediscover joy in each other’s presence.
Experience and Credentials
I hold a Master of Arts in Counseling from West Virginia University (2004) with a specialization in community counseling. In 2008, I returned to WVU to complete additional coursework and internships, earning my school counseling certification.
With over 21 years of experience dedicated to working with children, adults, and families, this work is more than a career to me—it’s my calling. I know firsthand the struggles of childhood and the challenges of parenting and adulthood in general. I understand how deeply we feel, whether it’s our own or our children’s pain and hardships, and I believe no one should have to navigate these challenges alone. That’s why I continuously pursue the latest evidence-based treatments, ensuring that the families I work with receive the most effective, research-backed support available.
If you’re feeling overwhelmed, you don’t have to figure this out by yourself. I’m here to help. Together, we can create a path toward healing, connection, and peace for you and your family.
